On August 11, the ALTERNATIVA Bloc presented its list of 103 candidates for the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova. All the required documents have been submitted to the Central Electoral Commission (CEC).
Ion Ceban, one of the Bloc’s leaders, emphasized that the ALTERNATIVA team brings together experienced managers, professionals from previous governments, former MPs, as well as ambitious young politicians.
“We want to address the citizens of the Republic of Moldova and tell them that ALTERNATIVA is here. The country must be brought back onto the path of development, and there must be justice for everyone, because too many groups in our society are being disregarded by the authorities. We are coming forward with a team of professionals—something the current government lacks. We are proud of what we have achieved here in Chisinau and we are confident that great things can be done at the national level,” said Ion Ceban.
The ALTERNATIVA Bloc’s list of candidates spans ages 20 to 69, with an average age of 41. One-third are young people under 35. Of the 103 candidates, 49 are women and 54 are men.
The professional background of the candidates is diverse:
- 15 senior public officials
- 29 officials, including mayors
- Over 50 regional representatives
- 2 district vice presidents
- 4 mayors
- Local councilors and diaspora members
The list also includes:
- 5 doctors
- 12 teachers
- 14 entrepreneurs
- 6 engineers
- 2 agronomists
- 39 lawyers
Seven candidates hold doctoral or postdoctoral degrees.
