The “Alternative” electoral bloc officially launched their campaign for the 28 September parliamentary elections. On 29 August the Bloc presented a programme focused on economic development, fair justice and modernisation of the country.
The event brought together members and leaders of the bloc, who delivered a common message: ‘Moldova needs a professional Parliament that works for citizens and not for party interests’.
Ion Ceban, Mayor of Chisinau and leader of MAN party, emphasised that the “Alternative” bloc team had the experience and capacity to bring concrete results throughout the country:
“I say with full responsibility that we have solutions and we are ready to deliver results very quickly for the country, for citizens, wherever they are. These solutions we have designed together. They are serious and really come to solve people’s problems quickly. Many of the ideas have been discussed and have come directly from the debates we have had in more than 300 towns and villages in the Republic of Moldova.”
Alexandr Stoianoglo, former prosecutor-general, spoke about the need to put law and justice back at the centre of public life:
“The time has come to show that the law is one for all, that a law-abiding Parliament is not something impossible, but a normality. The people of Moldova expect justice more than all other changes put together. And we will demonstrate that justice for all is not a slogan, but the main rule for the survival and prosperity of our country.”
Former Prime Minister and today’s leader of the PDCM, Ion Chicu, said that the Parliament had to become the engine of economic modernisation:
“All citizens, including entrepreneurs, investors and farmers expect to see in Parliament a centre of transformation, of genuine popular reforms. Reforms that provide incentives for development, encourage enterprise, attract investment from all over the world, and solve the most serious problems in energy, transport and banking.”
Mark Tkaciuk, leader of the Civic Congress, emphasised the practicality and unity of the “Alternative” team:
,,We are those who have proved that deeds match words. We don’t run for Parliament for the sake of positions, but to build a united, developed and respected Moldova in Europe. We want to transform the Parliament from a place of conflict into a place of construction, where we work for peace, social justice, jobs and a quality healthcare system.”
The “Alternative” Bloc aims to offer the citizens of the Republic of Moldova a responsible, predictable and people-orientated government, bringing professionalism and initiative to the forefront.
