Today, September 17, the ALTERNATIVE Electoral Bloc presented its “Green Moldova – Land of Life” program. Ana-Maria Păunescu, one of the candidates for parliament, has announced that the ALTERNATIVE is putting forward a detailed plan to transform the Republic of Moldova into a clean, healthy, and nature-friendly country.
“Green Moldova is an urgent necessity that can no longer be postponed. Our country is suffering – rivers are drying up, the air is becoming increasingly polluted, and unauthorized dumps have appeared at the edge of every village and town. If we do nothing, in just a few years we will have a poorer, sicker, and less livable country,” stated Ana-Maria Păunescu.
The main objectives of the Green Moldova program are as follows:
▪️ Waste management: Closing all unauthorized dumps; creating modern collection infrastructure in all localities; separate collection for plastic, glass, paper, and biodegradable waste; recycling and energy recovery from waste.
▪️ Recycling and circular economy: Building three regional recycling centers (North, Center, South); reducing by 95% the waste sent to landfills; creating jobs and developing the recycling industry.
▪️ Afforestation and soil protection: Planting forests on 25% of the country’s territory; creating forest belts along roads and agricultural fields; reforesting areas affected by deforestation and erosion.
▪️ Water protection: Restoring riverbanks and protecting small rivers; modernizing wastewater treatment plants; national water-cleaning programs; access to clean water for every community.
▪️ Nature reserves and ecotourism: Expanding and modernizing parks and nature reserves; developing ecotourism and educational trails; harnessing the economic potential of natural heritage through sustainable tourism.
“Environmental protection can no longer be delayed. It is an investment in our health and in our children’s future. A European country is not only about good roads and higher salaries, but also about clean villages, clear rivers, and breathable air,” emphasized Ana-Maria Păunescu.
The ALTERNATIVE Electoral Bloc urges citizens to take part in the September 28 elections and to choose a green and sustainable future: “Together we can bring justice for everyone – for people and for nature alike.”
